Moon Circle: Free E-book About Menstrual Health and Youth Work
How can youth workers, educators, and young people create safer and more open conversations about menstruation? The international Erasmus+ project “Moon Circle” focused exactly on this topic and brought together participants from several countries to share experiences, learn from each other, and develop practical educational materials.
The project took place in Ivančice, Czech Republic, from 26 July to 1 August 2025 and was co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme. It connected participants and organizations from Belgium, Hungary, Georgia, and the Czech Republic under the coordination of Mladiinfo ČR.
As one of the main outcomes of the project, participants collaboratively created a free educational e-book designed for youth workers, educators, facilitators, and anyone interested in working with the topic of menstruation in a respectful and stigma-free way.

What You Will Find in This E-book
The e-book shares knowledge, methods, and insights developed during the project, including:
- information about the project partners
- menstrual health contexts in different countries (Czech Republic, Georgia, Belgium, Egypt, Mongolia, Pakistan)
- trust-building activities and games
- overview of menstrual products
- critical perspectives on advertising of menstrual products
- understanding cyclical body
- additional resources and further reading
The publication aims to support open discussions about menstruation, menstrual health, and menstrual poverty while also offering practical activities that can be used in youth work, workshops, or educational settings.

At the same time, it is important to note that this e-book is an educational resource created within a non-formal education project. It does not replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, psychological support, or any other form of expert healthcare.
The Moon Circle project highlights how international cooperation and non-formal education can help break taboos and create more inclusive and informed communities around topics that are often still overlooked or stigmatized.
