How I spent the time at GIAN project?
From March 25 to April 2, I, Agnes, was able to experience an immersive and intense week of self-discovery and learning. The GIAN project, which aims to be a training course focused on the organization of communities in a sustainable and ethical way, was a special reminder of the power of collective work in the transformation of the world.
The thirst to change
For a week, I was able to participate in numerous dynamics and activities, learn new concepts and strategies of social engagement, meet new people and make friends that I will take to life and think a lot about the world, about life and about myself.I truly believe that this type of experience is a special opportunity for every person who has a thirst within themselves to change something, whether small or large.
The atmosphere of the project
Thinking about the most technical offers of the project, during the training we had contact with two trainers, Urania and Lorenzo, who led us on an intense learning journey. Through a logic of non-formal education, we could not only listen but also put into practice all the learning, from group dynamics to walks and activities in the middle of nature. The atmosphere of the project was very quiet, safe and comfortable. We spent the day in activities and had breaks for meals and moments of reflection. Overall, they were full but light days, without haste and overload. We had a free afternoon to spend time as we wanted and the rest of the days were dedicated to the project.

The power of kindness and empathy
We were warmly welcomed by the entire team, who remained present and available throughout the project. I affirm with certainty that this experience was a friendly reminder of kindness and empathy, as this was offered to me all the time during the week. I leave GIAN with enough knowledge and tools to start acting in collaboration with my communities, especially in my native country, Brazil. I leave with technical and relational skills and also with new ties and relationships. But, above all, I leave with a personal development that I never thought would be possible to acquire in a week. If you would like to live something similar, do not hesitate to participate in any project, you will certainly be surprised.
I am so grateful for the days I was able to spend in Cuggiono and for everything that this project
has brought to me!
